WEEK IN REVIEW

On Thursday, our Gators enjoyed a visit from "Bash the Trash". Through an exciting assembly, they learned about environmental issues like climate change and plastic pollution, the science of how sound waves travel, and how you can make your own musical instruments out of everyday items and materials! For more pictures, see "Pictures of the Week" below!  

MiSmAtChEd DaY

Students rocked mismatched shoes and socks on Thursday in support of Glenville alumni Sam Buck. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped bring awareness to Vanishing White Matter Disease!

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee
April 2023 is Heritage Month

April continues the celebration and recognition of National Deaf History Month and Ramadan.  

April is also Arab American Heritage Month, World Autism Day and Diversity Month. Passover, Easter, and Ramadan are important holidays in the Jewish, Christian, and Muslim religions that are all celebrated during April.

Green Schools Committee
Earth Month- April 1st- April 30th

This year's celebration of Earth Day emphasizes the need for greater sustainability across the globe.  The Greenwich Conservation Commission, Green Schools, and the Greenwich Country Day School are collaborating in an "all schools" Earth Month celebration this April 2023.  We urge you to join us in this historic educational Earth Month of Action!

~ Battery Drive ~

Help Glenville School kick off Earth Month this April with a battery drive. Bring in your used batteries for us to collect and recycle. Battery drop-off will be in the Main Office for the entire month of April. When batteries are placed in landfills and incinerators, heavy metals end up in our water and air.  Small steps like recycling batteries can make a big difference!  Let's get started!

For those of you who were unable to attend this month's PTAC Academic Excellence presentation, "Catching Up With GPS Science:  That NGSS Test, Student Experiences & Jr. Innovators Update," or for those attendees who would like to review the presentation again, you will find everything you need on the PTAC web page under "Council Resources" - https://www.greenwichschools.org/community-ptac/ptac/resources.  All Academic Excellence workshops and ancillary materials are posted for parents on the PTAC web page for your future reference and convenience.
