PTA General Membership Meeting

Our next general membership meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 18th at 9:00 a.m. 

We will be holding a Meet & Greet with our new Assistant Principal, Cara Vitolo. Afterwards, Glenville Literacy Specialist, Carole Marotto, will speak about reading aloud to your children as a means of developing oral language skills. 

A virtual meeting link will be provided for those who cannot attend in person.


Benefits of Reading Aloud to Kids:

  • Builds empathy
  • Creates a lifelong love of reading
  • Improves language and listening skills
  • Facilitates important discussions
  • Activates and empowers imagination
  • It's Fun!!!!!!
WESTERN MIDDLE SCHOOL NEEDS OUR HELP!

Please read - this topic affects all future Western Wildcats!  

The WMS fields have been shut down for the past six years as the district has gone back and forth with the state and federal agencies on how to remediate the contaminants found in the soil. 

We are at an exciting and critical point in this work. The state has the Remediation Action Plan, and they are now seeking input from the community, via email and in a meeting at Western on January 11th at 6:00 pm.

Access to quality fields for our kids depends on your active participation in this process! 

What can you do to help?

  • Speak during the public comment section on January 11th

Art to Remember

Our school is participating in the creative fundraiser Art to Remember again this year. The theme is LOVE and all orders will be delivered by Feb 10th, just in time for Valentine's Day.

**ORDER DEADLINE IS MONDAY JAN 16th!**

Please look for your child’s personal order form which should have come home last week.

A percentage of every sale will go back to Glenville and help fund our fantastic art program.
