We closed out the first week of school with our Fourth Annual Outdoor Family Movie Night. We hope everyone had a great time! Your PTA Membership helps support fun, family activities like this all year long. Join today!

IMPORTANT REMINDERS
First PTA Meeting this Wednesday

When: Wednesday, September 14 at 6:30 pm

Where: Glenville School Media Center

Can't make it in person? We will also have a virtual option - Google meets link to be provided beforehand.  

We will hold a Q&A session with Principal Monaco, meet some of our PTAC Representatives, and discuss our plans for the year, especially Gator Glow! Please submit questions for Principal Monaco here.  

Need babysitting? Mrs. Riley will graciously watch the kids (must be potty-trained). 

We look forward to seeing you all there in-person or virtually!

A mandatory class parents meeting will be held immediately following the PTA Meeting.

Fall enrichments with Greenwich After School @ Glenville includes classes ranging from music, art, science, theater, sports, and more!  

Classes are offered Monday to Friday, September 27 through December 22. Classes are held at Glenville School, from dismissal until 4:20 pm. 

Register by Monday, September 19 to avoid late fees.

Picture Day is Wednesday, September 28

Pick out your finest outfit, straighten that bowtie or grab your coolest clothes! It’s PICTURE DAY at Glenville! 

Picture day will take place outdoors, weather permitting. All students will have individual pictures taken and be included in the class photo! Please order online - see directions below.

Save the Date for Open House

Glenville Open House is scheduled for Thursday, October 13. This is a great opportunity to meet your child's teacher and learn what is happening in the classroom this year!

WHAT'S NEW FROM PTAC
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

September 15 marks the beginning of Hispanic Heritage month. The theme for this year’s celebration is Unidos: Inclusivity for a Stronger Nation. We encourage you to follow this link to the Parent Teacher Advisory Council (PTAC) Diversity, Equity and Inclusion website for book recommendations and calendar events throughout town. We’d like to highlight some of the events below:

Athena Books is hosting a discussion with Carmen Rita Wong, author of the new book “Why Didn’t You Tell Me?” on Sept. 20 at 6:30 PM. Details are here.

WPKN is sponsoring a Hispanic Heritage film series for all ages at the Bijou Theater in Bridgeport. Details to purchase tickets are here.

New Canaan Chamber of Commerce and the Greens Farms Foundation are hosting a day long event on Sept. 17 to celebrate Hispanic Heritage month. Details and registration are here.

Greenwich Boys and Girls Clubwebsite features ways to celebrate Hispanic and Latino heritage month with kids.

Audubon Hawk Watch Weekend

When: Saturday, September 24 and Sunday, September 25, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm

The Greenwich Council Boy Scouts of America has access to over 150 acres at Camp Seton where we’ll host a Fall Festival in October. Hikes, campouts and the pinewood derby all await.
