Spring Concert Delivers
Awesome 80's Vibe

Glenville School Fourth and Fifth graders brought us back to the 1980's on Tuesday, in a rocking Spring concert that delighted and impressed everyone in the audience. Mrs. Sylvester (Chorus), Ms. Lindell (Band), and Ms. Sanford (Orchestra) brought our students to new heights this season, and special musical guests and community favs J & The B Sides were the icing on this cake.

Kindness Rocks Ready
for Memorial Garden

On Friday, May 31, Glenville School will be dedicating a memorial garden to Glenville alumnus Steven Sudell (Class of 2014), comprised largely of kindness rocks which have been hand-painted by every student in the school. The staff finished theirs this Wednesday afternoon, contributing to what will be a meaningful tribute to one of our own who passed away earlier this year.

Fifth Grade Rocked
A Full Day in Philadelphia, PA

It was a long day for our Fifth Grade this Thursday, as they hit the road @ 6:45AM and didn't return to Glenville until after 8:30PM, but spirits were high and the consensus was that the sights, experiences, and learning they all discovered in Philadelphia was worth the travel time. And there's nothing like hours on a bus together to really bond a class! Kudos to Kerrie Huxta and the Fifth Grade teaching team for organizing an ambitious, fantastic field trip.

First Grade Gets A Read
On the Greenwich Library

It's always a great day for a trip to the library! Our First Grade visited the main branch of the amazing Greenwich Library, and got to see first hand the inner workings of a major library. Each student was issued their own library card and were encouraged to return frequently to any of the branches of the Greenwich Library, to check out books and participate in the excellent events they have, including the annual Summer Reading Challenge!

Second Grade @ SNC:
What's Up With Plants?

It was all about plants for our Second Graders on Friday, as they travelled to the Stamford Nature Center to take a deep dive into the science of botany. Students identified the parts of plants, their life cycles, needs, adaptations, and importance, learned how seeds are disbursed, and got to plant their own. They also found time to explore the rest of the farm and SNC grounds, in a rewarding and fun field trip.

The KC Sisters Serenaded Students Through Lunch

Five sisters ranging in age from 15 to 21 brought their beautiful harmonies and exquisite instrumentals to our cafeteria this Friday. Students recognized many songs and were wowed by the talent demonstrated by this young family band. The sisters even broke out fiddles for dancing after students finished their lunches. Listen to some of their songs on the KC Sisters website, and check out more photos from the event below.
