So begins the frenzy of end-of-year activities and last-minute attempts to cram it all in. Look to your PTA to help get you through to the end of the school year. It's sooner than you think!

LAST MEETING OF THE YEAR!

You won't want to miss this final PTA General Membership meeting of the year!
We will have Western Middle School Principal Gordon Beinstein in the house, and if you've never heard him give a talk, you are definitely missing out. He will be speaking about the middle school experience and how to best prepare your child for that adventure, and if you think his talk is only for fifth graders, think again. He always has great life advice for parents of students of all ages and we encourage you to get to this meeting to hear him.

We will also be voting in our new Executive Board for next year.
Nominees will be announced in next week's Byte.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS

Take this survey now.

This is the survey that Mr. D'Amico sent out in his Friday Smore this week. The PTA would like to stress how important it is for all of us parents to complete it.

Each year Mr. D'Amico and his team formulate a School Improvement Plan to focus on key aspects of our students' education that they want to improve, specific to Glenville School. The goals for this year are explained in the survey link.

Completing this survey will help them assess how well they did for our students.

Your input is invaluable.

If you aren't using the Glenville School PTA Membership Toolkit App yet, now is the perfect time to start, as now you can access all calendars as well as the school directory! You can also see all communications from Glenville School PTA and order event tickets and Gator Gear right from within the app!

Fourth Grade Hits Byram Beach for Learning, Sun & Fun

Our fourth graders hit the beach this past Thursday, where educators from the Maritime Aquarium led them in activities designed to increase their awareness of the unique ecology, marine life, tidal activity, and environment of the Long Island Sound. First Ever LIVE Broadcast of GTV Airs for Entire School

The ten current GTV Afters participants were the first to air a Friday morning news broadcast LIVE from the Glenville School Design Lab, which they had converted into a full-fledged news studio. The news stories were written by the students, and performed LIVE for the entire school via individual classrooms dialing into a Google Hangouts "call." The GTV team did a fantastic job in this very cool first endeavor.

Second Grade International Lunch a "Global" Success

The culmination of weeks of study on ancestry, the annual Second Grade International Lunch celebrated heritage and family with songs, delicious food from around the world, and a comprehensive portfolio of each second graders' family history to take home.
